A brief look back and some favourties
By: Kirby | January 16th, 2009As promised, here’s a quick look back on the first half of the 2008/2009 season Zlatan style.
So far he’s made 25 appearances, scoring 12 goals and providing 4 assists. 10 in league play, 1 in the Coppa Italia (and a very nice one I might add) and 1 in the Champion’s League. Not too shabby from the Malmo born man.
The following are my favourite Ibra moments from the last quarter of 2008:
First
You guessed it, my favourite Zlatan moment for the season so far was his backheel flick goal against Bologna. When he scored I wasn’t too sure as to what happened. I sat down on my couch trying to think “how in the hell that ball reached into the back of the net?!”. Initially, I thought the defender scored an own goal. Oh how I was wrong when ESPN cut to the reply. Usually, I do a little happy dance when Zlatz scores, but not this time. I was in absolute shock. My jaw dropped while i just sat there (no happy dance that day). In an interview he claimed the goal as “easy”. Truly magnificent.
Second
The second isn’t a goal, but a perfectly measured heel-half-flip-jump-pass. I don’t know how he was able to contort his body like that to pull of that crazy movement but he did. The pass got a standing ovation from both Inter and Lazio fans. I guess when you’re a genius these things come naturally. Truly spectacular.
Third
And my third, but by no means last moment is Ibra’s second goal in Inter’s 4-2 victory over Chievo. It was an absolute scorcher. What a terrific finish by the Big Swede. That shot had everything! Power, placement, you name it, it was in there (we’ll besides for a heel-half-flip-jump-pass). Kudos must be given to Dejan for picking out Ibra’s run. Truly breathtaking.

Three moments of genius for sure. The back heel volley against Bologna is without a doubt the goal of the season. The first goal against Palermo was amazing also. He’s completely unpredictable
